Axial Bearings

Axial bearings, also known as thrust bearings, are designed to support loads that are applied parallel to the axis of rotation. Unlike radial bearings, which primarily manage forces perpendicular to the shaft, axial bearings are specifically engineered to handle high thrust loads, making them essential in applications where significant axial forces are present.

Our Translink Axial bearings comply with ISO9001 standards and meet the highest standards to perform in industrial applications and to ensure efficiency, longevity, and smooth operation in high-load applications. Some examples of use in industrial machinery include heavy-duty machines such as presses, extruders and gear drives, as well as pumps and compressors to manage axial loads efficiently.

There are several types of Translink axial bearings, each suited for different applications. Thrust ball bearings consist of ball bearings sandwiched between two washer-like raceways and are ideal for applications requiring moderate axial loads and high-speed operation, such as automotive transmissions and machine tool spindles. Cylindrical and tapered roller thrust bearings can handle higher loads and are commonly used in heavy machinery like construction equipment and turbines. Spherical thrust bearings are designed to accommodate misalignment, making them useful in applications where shaft deflection is a concern.
